Been way too long since we had a group ride!
If anyone is in town 11/23 or 11/24 (after Thangsgiving) lets plan on getting together and burning off some of those Thanksgiving calories :-) I will be riding both days ... suggest an airport loop ride on Friday 11/23 in the early morning. Choosing that route to avoid the crush of traffic that will ensue for the shopping blitz that starts that day. Open to suggestions for a route on the 24th. I would recommend something on the other side of town to accomodate those who had to travel to get to the airport run.
For Friday 11/23:
- meet at the 7-11 on corner of Orange Ave and Weatherbee.
- ride distance 30-35 miles
- No one gets dropped ... pace will adjust to accomodate the group
- start time 7:30am
Cheers!
Kevin

Cycling in the news in West Florida
I heard through a Facebook friend of a group that rides around San Antonio, Fl. It is a large group that made the news for having some rowdy riders. TBO.com has the article.
Looking at a blog called Simon Says Cycling the group can pull 50 -100 cyclists on a Sunday. The ride is said to be very competitive.

The 2012 Horrible Hundred will be held on November 18th.
Join the Florida Freewheelers in celebrating one of Florida's oldest continuous rides, the 33rd Horrible Hundred.
Will you survive? This event features course options of 35, 70 and 100 miles. Enjoy quiet country roads and true Southern hospitality while tackling Central Florida's "mountains". Dance on the tips of your pedals up "Sugarloaf". Swoop through the descents on "Buckhill". Suffer the dead-start ascent of "Grassy Lake". But first you've gotta hit "The Wall". Century riders will confront all seven of Central Florida's mountains.
Registration will open in mid August at www.horrible-hundred.com.
